Blaxican Chicken started with a passion that had been there for years.

“I always had a passion for cooking. When I was young, I wanted to be a chef. I was just good in the kitchen.”

Cooking was always part of the dream, but life happened. Family grew, responsibilities changed, music and ministry were being pursued, and for a season the vision had to be put down.

But it never really went away.

Over time, that passion became something shared between husband and wife. What started with him doing most of the cooking became a journey of teaching, experimenting, trying recipes, learning through trial and error, and eventually creating flavors of their own.

“She went from trying to learn and doing other people’s recipes to starting to do her own thing.”

And eventually, she became so good in the kitchen that, as he says:

“She moved me from the kitchen to outside. I do more of the grilling, and she does everything.”

That family journey became part of something much bigger.

The vision for Blaxican Chicken came from experiencing what he calls “the best of both worlds”—growing up around both Black and Hispanic communities, building friendships across cultures, and developing a real love and appreciation for Mexican food and culture while remaining rooted in his own.

“I got the best of both worlds.”

That is the heart behind Blaxican: bringing Black and Hispanic culture together through food.

But the vision goes beyond what is on the plate.

UNITY. DIVERSITY. LOVE.

Those three words represent what Blaxican Chicken is meant to stand for.

Unity is about people standing together.

“Together we strong. A house divided won’t stand.”

The vision is to create something that shows people what can happen when we stop allowing differences to keep us separated and instead build together.

Diversity represents the beauty of different cultures, backgrounds and people coming together.

Blaxican Chicken celebrates those differences rather than asking people to leave them at the door.

And then there is Love.

For us, love is not just something written underneath a logo.

“Without love there won’t be no smiles when you eat the food. There won’t be no good customer service. You can’t even taste it in the food.”

We believe people can tell when something has been made with care.

They can feel it in the way they are welcomed.
They can experience it in the service.
And they should be able to taste it in every plate.

“That’s what people are missing in this game—the love in the food.”

Ultimately, our faith is at the center of that.

“The greatest commandment is love… love thy neighbor.”

Blaxican Chicken exists to create great food, but also to create a place where people can gather, cultures can connect, families can eat together, and everybody can feel welcome at the table.
